Here are some tips that may help your move into River Creek Estates go smoothly:
Read the Condo by-laws fully and carefully. If you have any questions, contact the Property Management company for your building (Schinkel Properties is managing all 5 buildings as of June 2022).
If you are planning to paint your suite right away, be sure to check out the warning I have about sprinklers. The warning is located on the Miscellaneous Tips page.
It's important to contact the Property Management company and make them aware of your move date. Ask them for anything they feel you need to know. Find out who is the on-site building contact in the event you need something on move day.
If you have a dog, find out right away where it's ok for your dog to do it's business. It's not allowed for dogs to do their business around the pump house building or it's grounds. Instead, use the area designated at the North-West corner of the property. Throw away dog waste in specified containers that are outdoors, not in the garbage bins within the buildings.
If you plan on doing any significant renovations, such as plumbing, a flooring change or if you have plans to add or remove a wall, you must contact the board members of your building and get their approval before you begin. This is to ensure renovations are safe for the building and that proper sound insulation is in place. I don't recommend doing any electrical or plumbing work on your own even if you are handy. To protect you from an insurance claim, contact your building's Property Manager to arrange to get a professional in to do the work. The last thing you want is to be liable for damage to other suites or the common area.
Some indoor parking stalls have storage cages. If you want to purchase one, contact the Property Management company to find out how you can get one purchased and installed.
Most people here are friendly and are more than willing to help with questions you have. But, if you want a definitive answer, contact your Property Management company. They are there to help!
