Each floor has a room where you can dump your garbage into a chute. As of January 2016, the garbage bins get placed outside every Friday morning around 7:00AM and the contracted garbage collector truck comes and empties the bins. Because the bins are away from the chute area, it is not recommended to drop garbage into the chutes on Friday mornings.
Your garbage needs to be securely tied up in a plastic bag. Make sure that anything you put into the chute won't get stuck so keep your bags small. Also, it's unsafe to throw out any flammable items into the chute.
There are two recycling depots nearby... One is at the St. Andrews Fire Hall on Highway #9 about 2 minutes South of Highway #44. This area accepts only household cardboard, glass, etc.
The other is the Dunning Road Transfer Station which is operated by the RM of St. Clements. Click here to check out the St. Clements Landfill and Transfer Stations website to find out exactly what recycling they accept. The Dunning Road Transfer station is only 10 minutes away on Raleigh Road just off Highway #204 near the Dunning Road turnoff. Be sure to check the Summer and Winter hours of operation before going as the days they are open and the times are very different depending on the time of year.
